Ripley Entertainment’s Booth at International Trade Show Takes Top Honors

ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 18, 2010) – In its first outing as a trade show exhibitor since 1999, Ripley Entertainment  won the “Image Award” for best booth at the Nov. 16-19 Attractions Expo of the International Assn. of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA).     Ripley Entertainment Inc., the caretaker of the venerable Believe It or Not! branded attractions and books,  Guinness World Records Museums,  Louis Tussaud’s Wax Museums, Ripley’s Aquariums, and many more family friendly brands topped more than 1,100 other exhibitors at the world’s largest amusement industry trade show to win the award.

“This is very exciting for us,” said Jim Pattison Jr., president of Ripley Entertainment Inc., noting that it was his intention to make a big splash this year. “We haven’t displayed at the Expo for more than a decade, and winning this award has really excited our team.”

In addition to the 14 video screens, stylized lighting, and signature music – all with a yellow, blue and red color theme – the two-story booth was one of the most colorful and active in the show. Stunning and unbelievable exhibits, including a full size hand carved wooden Ferrari boat and a life-size figure of the tallest man who ever lived, 8 foot 11 inch Robert Wadlow, garnered a great amount of attention.

A major draw to the booth were the live shows presented all week, performed by The Lizardman who unveiled a wax figure of himself created by the Ripley wax artists, Guinness strength record holder Chad Netherland, and Al Gliniecki, who set a Guinness World  Record for tying the most cherry stems with his tongue in one minute – 13!

During the show, Ripley unveiled its new concept for Guinness World Records attractions and the world-wide franchise opportunities now being offered. With 85 attractions – spanning a dozen brands – Ripley Entertainment Inc. had plenty of opportunities in which to talk about to investors, developers, and existing park and attraction owners and operators.
