Ripley’s to Open Exciting and Tasty New Attraction in Gatlinburg

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (March 26, 2008) Ripley’s Marvelous Mirror Maze & Candy Factory, the most innovative, fun and tasty attraction to open Gatlinburg for years, will open its doors on Friday morning, March 28.  The attraction features hundreds of mirrors with an amazing surprise at every corner, twist and bend. Plus, the spectacular and colorful candy store has a splendiferous variety of candies of all kind – from old fashioned root beer barrels to the most current confections, all set in a fantasy candy factory surrounding.

The Marvelous Mirror Maze & Candy Factory to Open on the Parkway

“Our Marvelous Mirror Maze is not your granddaddy’s house of mirrors. This is a totally new concept in amusement design and it will provide a different experience every time you enter,” said Ryan DeSear, general manager of Ripley Entertainment Sevier County. “The candy factory is a great way to relive your childhood as we have old time favorites and all the new classics.”

The Marvelous Mirror Maze features nearly 2,000 square feet of mirrored paths, surprising corners, dead ends and continuous circles! Sound and lighting effects make the experience even more daunting. Unlike mazes of the past, this one offers multiple paths throughout and adventurers can begin at the end and work their way through backward if they wish.

The maze is a fun family experience that will appeal to children, teenagers and adults alike. Made entirely of highly reflective mirrors, guests can take their time as they explore endless hallways and hundreds of mirrors as they journey through the adventure. If a person stops and looks around all they will see is themselves looking back. There appears to be no clear path for escape! With so many choices – it is never the same experience twice.

Priced under $10,  The Marvelous Mirror Maze is one of the area’s most affordable attractions as well!  For greater savings, a combination ticket is available with Guinness World Records Museum, located next door.

“Ripley’s has been in Gatlinburg for 40 years. The city continues to be the bedrock of our company and as one can see, we are always willing to invest in its continuing growth and future with new businesses,” said DeSear.

Ripley Entertainment Sevier County owns Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum, Ripley’s Davy Crockett Mini-Golf, Ripley’s Haunted Adventures, Ripley’s Moving Theater, Ripley’s Old McDonald’s Farm Mini Golf and Guinness World Records Museum.
