ORLANDO, Fla. (April 25, 2011) – Summer travelers looking for some fun without having to go too far take note: 53% of the U.S. population is within a half tank of gas of one of the 45-plus Ripley family  attractions in the United States.

It’s the 10th anniversary of Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, Tenn., (and Ripley’s 40th year in Gatlinburg) and the celebration continues through the holiday season with the playful penguins and a 5-story musical Christmas Tree on the plaza.  Check out this story by Whitney Kent of Volunteer TV,  WVLT-TV in Knoxville.
