Unique & Unbelievable “Terminator” Statue Unveiled at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando
ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2011) – Arnold Schwarzenegger decreed “I’ll be back!” in his most famous movie line. But not even Arnold could have imagined that his return would be in the form now on display at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando Odditorium. The Terminator statue is now on display in the Odditorium lobby for free viewing!
Orlando artist creates movie homage on life-size Terminator statue
The life-size statue was created by artist Enrique Ramos. But this isn’t just the artist’s take on the Terminator – it’s a tribute to some of Hollywood’s biggest film stars. This Arnold is covered in three-dimensional scenes from Jaws, Rocky, The Wizard of Oz, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alien, Predator and Harry Potter. There are also depictions of Tinseltown’s biggest box office draws – everyone from Charlie Chaplin to John Wayne to Sylvester Stallone to Johnny Depp.
“Mr. Ramos has been a part of the Ripley family for over 20 years, supplying us with many fantastic exhibits,” said Edward Meyer, Ripley’s VP of Exhibits and Archives. “This piece, however, is his opus – his 9th Symphony – both in complexity, detail and historic scope. He has virtually told the history of the film industry in one spectacular sculpture.”

The Terminator statue took five months to create, using a variety of media – clay, resin, paper, plastic – even a real vampire bat! Ramos plans to make a motorcycle in the same style to complete the work. Both pieces will go on display at Ripley’s Hollywood Odditorium following it’ss renovated.
Ripley’s Odditoriums are home to several amazing works of art created by Ramos, as well as his son Christiam. Those include a portrait of Elvis created from dozens of smaller portraits of Elvis, Beyoncé created entirely from candy, the history of Mexico painted on butterflies and Princess Diana painted on ants.
Interviews are available with Edward Meyer and artist Enrique Ramos (who speaks only Spanish). Ripley’s can provide a translator at the Orlando Odditorium.
