World Famous Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Opens its Doors in London, England
ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 19, 2008) – The doors to the quirky and world famous Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, the global authority on the weird, strange and bizarre, open for the first time in London on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Hosting more than 500 peculiar and wonderful exhibits never before seen in the UK, the attraction, occupying 24,000 square feet in the heart of London’s West End at 1 Piccadilly Circus, is set to become one of London’s major tourist destinations and a must-see for families.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! offers a unique mixture of entertainment, education and fun for the entire family and appeals to anyone with a basic sense of curiosity. Guests of all ages will appreciate the authentic and unbelievable exhibits.
“Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is absolutely unique and promises to be the most incredible visitor attraction in London. There’s nothing like it. We’re looking forward to shocking visitors from all over the world,” notes Jim Pattison, Jr., President of Ripley Entertainment Inc., who adds that he enjoys visiting the Ripley’s attractions and watching people’s reactions as they observe outrageous items for the first time, such as Vampire Killing Kits.
From an albino alligator to a 3,000 lb piece of the Berlin Wall, a Swarovski-Covered Crystal Mini Cooper and three unbelievable human shrunken heads from Ecuador, the attraction features exhibits so bizarre they leave visitors wondering if something so outlandish could really be true.
Additional strange items on display include a magnificent portrait of Princess Diana made of laundry lint from a clothes dryer, a copy of The Last Supper painted on a grain of rice, the famous sweater worn by Marilyn Monroe during her last photo shoot on the beaches of Malibu, a mummified man, and a genuine moon rock.
